Phillip Toye Legal is a new law firm formed by its Principal, Phillip Toye. Phillip has many years of legal experience as a lawyer and advisor in both the private and public sectors. We aim to provide sound legal advice and take a creative approach to complex and challenging legal problems.  
Our office is in the Wellington CBD but we are able to to use technology to service clients around New Zealand.  We bring expertise and experience to help in providing optimal solutions to our clients.

With more than 30 years experience as a lawyer and advisor Phillip brings dedication to providing high quality legal services to his clients. 

Phillip Toye

Phillip is the founding Principal of Phillip Toye Legal who specializes in public law, Maori/Treaty law and governance, and communications and entertainment law. During his career Phillip has been involved in the design and passing of many pieces of legislation and regulation, including the Crown Minerals Act, the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act, reviews of and amendments to the Telecommunications and Radiocommunications Acts, Postal Services regulation, Internet Safety and Cybersecurity measures, digital content measures and Treaty Settlement legislation. He has also worked on many Treaty Settlement negotiations, particularly in relation to iwi governance arrangements, and advised on the Marine and Coastal Area Act.
