Phillip Toye
Phillip is the founding Principal of Phillip Toye Legal who specializes in public law, Maori/Treaty law and governance, and communications and entertainment law. During his career Phillip has been involved in the design and passing of many pieces of legislation and regulation, including the Crown Minerals Act, the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act, reviews of and amendments to the Telecommunications and Radiocommunications Acts, Postal Services regulation, Internet Safety and Cybersecurity measures, digital content measures and Treaty Settlement legislation. He has also worked on many Treaty Settlement negotiations, particularly in relation to iwi governance arrangements, and advised on the Marine and Coastal Area Act.
